– Longer Pottery Courses

Due to recent Government announcements Hot Pot Pottery will be re-opening from Dec 2nd 2020.

In all that we do, to keep Covid risks as low as possible, we are registered with Visit England’s ‘Good to Go’ Scheme.

Learn A New Skill

Class of 2019 (Autumn)

As well as our Pottery Trial Classes & One Day Wheel Throwing Workshops, we also run longer pottery courses which go into more depth and cover a wider range of techniques.

These are usually 2 hours a week on a Monday afternoon &/or evening depending on demand.

What Our Longer Courses Cover

Previously we have run our longer courses over 8 weeks but we recognise that budgets are limited and some of the techniques we can’t easily make low risk in relation to Covid-19. So (assuming restrictions allow) we are considering a 6 week course starting in March 2021 to cover:

Fabulous Creations!
  • pinch pots
  • coiling
  • slab work for tiles and constructing 3D shapes
  • using moulds
  • attaching handles
  • throwing on the wheel
  • decorating with slip

Once slip decorated pieces have been clear glazed (by us) and fired at the end of the course, if a social gathering is not possible to admire each others’ pots over a glass of wine, we will put up an on-line gallery for everyone to view each others’ work before pieces will be available for collection.

NB: Min. numbers for a class = 4, max. = 6.

Class Costs & Payment

This course will cost £250.00 which includes all materials, firing, refreshments and chat. Payment will be required on-line in advance.
