Learn A New Skill in 2021 With Our 6 Week Pottery Course

NB: 1 SPACE LEFT!

As well as our POTTERY TRIAL CLASSES & ONE DAY WHEEL THROWING WORKSHOPS, we also run longer pottery courses which go into more depth and cover a wider range of pottery techniques.

Cosy & Well Spaced Work Areas

Previously we they were 8 weeks but we know budgets are limited this year and some things we can’t easily do due to Covid-19.

So this year we are doing 6 weeks starting Monday 17th May 2021 (2-4pm) until Monday 28th June (as one week is a Bank Hol Monday).

NB: Min. numbers = 4, max. = 6.

What Our Longer Courses Cover

The course will cover:

Autumn 2019 8 week pottery class

  • coiling
  • slab work for tiles and constructing 3D shapes
  • using moulds
  • attaching handles
  • throwing on the wheel
  • decorating with slip
Fabulous Creations!

What Should I Wear?

NOT your best clothes, clay is messy but does wash out! We do provide aprons, towels and hand-wash facilities.

We advise taking off large rings and bracelets, trying long hair back and rolling up sleeves. Also, long fingernails are not helpful to you when working with clay!

How To Know What To Do!

All our classes are great fun and we provide full demos and help and advice throughout each class.

However, before you start the course there are two on-line videos it is worth watching as our in-class demos are a little more difficult to see at the moment due to social distancing. There are:AN INTRODUCTION TO WHEEL THROWING and PINCH POTS & TILES.

At The End Of The Course

Once slip decorated pieces have been clear glazed and fired for you at the end of the course we will have an evening display of pots which we will admire with a few drinks and nibbles.

Class Costs & Payment

This course will cost £250.00 which includes all teaching, materials, kit, firing, refreshments and chat. Payment will be required on-line into our account in advance.
