We take our visitor’s and our own safety seriously. As a result, at Hot Pot Pottery we follow Government and Leisure Industry advice closely and are registered with Visit England’s ‘Good to Go’ and The World Travel & Tourism Council’s ‘Safe Travels’ Schemes to keep Covid-19 risks as low as possible and encourage responsible behaviour on-site and in relation to bookings.

Hot Pot Pottery is ON THE MOVE (just down the road).
HOWEVER: we will be CLOSED for classes and activities from Fri 28th Jan 2022 until we RE-OPEN later in the season at our new studio.
We have left the information below to give you an idea what we were offering and will update our website with our regular and lots of new activities and classes when we are ready to re-open! See you soon!
Private Gallery/Shop Browsing!
Due to Covid-19 and the intimate nature of our pottery gallery/shop you can now book a private gallery/shop browsing session in our fantastic gallery/shop (with no pressure to buy!).
Browsing sessions will only be offered to one group at a time and we will leave you to browse unaccompanied (on trust!).
We are very happy for our pottery to be handled, but visitors will be asked to handwash and/or sanitise hands in the adjacent glazing and firing room prior to browsing.
Door handles will be sanitised between booked browsing sessions.
We will also ensure ventilation is maximised with doors and windows open/ajar depending on the weather.
We have a range of our pottery on display and for sale in our gallery/shop.
It is offered at realistic prices with something to suit all budgets. It is displayed informally on furniture rather than plinths and we encourage visitors to handle pottery before deciding what to buy!
Our pottery is all handmade on-site and inspired by the natural woodland surroundings. Our pieces range from functional cups, goblets, plates, egg cups, jugs and vases to more experimental hand-built animals, thrown & constructed display pieces.
We have a range of finishes from standard stoneware glazes, to crater-glaze, smoke-fired pieces and lots of pieces made from mixing different clays and oxides together and decorating from within rather than on the surface. We also have a range of pieces using local clay if you want to buy your own local momento of the beautiful Forest of Dean.

I do take commissions but requirements must be in keeping with the style of what I already make. Please contact me if you want to discuss.
In terms of payment, we prefer CASH over card payment on the day or payment into our account on-line as we can no longer share card payment charges customers. We hope you understand.
