– Teach The Teacher Workshops

Pottery In Schools

At Hot Pot Pottery we believe creativity in young people is important and we are keen to ensure pottery features in the school curriculum and that pottery teachers or those running pottery studios in educational settings are confident about what they do.

So we offer bespoke ‘teach the teacher’ workshops and can cover everything you need from setting up a studio, what clay, glaze and kiln to buy, loading and firing kilns and the basics of teaching hand building and throwing on the wheel.

Our max. class size is 6 people and our min. is 2 people.

We can include pre-arranged food on-site for you or we can arrange to have lunch at a local pub or cafe.

So Contact Us to tell us what you need and find out more about what we can offer.

Our Studio & Facilities

Our studio is light and airy and we have 6 wheels and workspaces so there is plenty of space.

We provide everything you need for your workshop including all making and decorating kit aprons, hand washing facilities & towels.

Price, Booking & Payment

The price will be bespoke to whatever you choose but will include: teaching, kit, facilities, refreshments (as standard) and leaving pottery for glazing and firing. It can also include catering.

For more information or to book, please Contact Us.

Please note: Advance booking of at least 48 hours is required.

If we are including food, please advise us of any food allergies/intolerances at time of booking.

Payment will be in advance and we can invoice you and provide you with our account details to pay into or you can pay by card.

Cash or card payment on the day is fine for extras such as leaving extra pots for firing, pottery purchases or decisions to go for delivery rather than collection.

Collection/Delivery Of Your Finished Pottery

We fire made pottery about every 5-6 weeks (when our kiln is full). Made pottery must be dry before it can go in the kiln which can take 4-5 days (depending on the weather) and our biscuit and glaze firings also take about 4-5 days.

If you or someone in your group lives locally then you/they can come and collect your pottery when it is ready.

If no-one in your group lives locally then you need delivery which is £20.00 which covers all your/your groups’ pottery to one mainland UK address. Each extra delivery address required is an extra £20.00.

Cancellation/Date Transfer/No Show

We understand that plans can change and things can go wrong so please, before booking with us, check out our Cancellation/Date Transfer/No Show Policy and make sure you are happy with that.

To answer many questions we get asked a lot we have put together a FAQs page. But if we haven’t answered what you want to know on that page then please do Contact Us.
